Join the Board of Directors

The Bay View Academy charter school is governed by the Board of Directors of the Bay View Academy corporation, a non-profit, public benefit corporation. 

Bay View Academy is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization for both federal and state tax purposes. If you’re interested in joining our Board of Directors, please complete an online application. Paper applications can be printed and submitted to the BVA front office.

BVA is founded on the principles of Community, Innovation and Passion.

We are privileged to have almost 500 students, Kindergarten through 8th grade.

We build strong, collaborative relationships to fuel a diverse, inclusive community committed to lifelong learning.

We are empowered global citizens building meaningful lives and community.

Board Member Responsibilities

  • Attendance at the monthly board meetings

  • Attendance at relevant committee meetings

  • Participation at various BVA events  

  • Oversight of school finances, operations and academic programs

  • Participation in fundraising and outreach
